Adriel Enriquez, a 12-year-old soccer player, collapsed during practice with the Platinum IE soccer club on February 26 in San Bernardino. Paramedics arrived at approximately 8:40 p.m. and transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His family reported he had no known medical conditions and his death was unexpected. Adriel had played for the club since May 2024 and was remembered by coaches and teammates as a gentle, kind person who positively impacted those around him. The collapse occurred during unusually warm winter weather, with temperatures reaching 88 degrees that day. The county coroner has not yet determined the official cause of death.
