10-year-old SoCal girl set to graduate from community college, hopes to transfer to Stanford
Briefly

Alisa Perales, a 10-year-old prodigy, is on the verge of becoming the youngest graduate at Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa, California. She began reading at two and was solving algebra problems by five. Her father, inspired by an inheritance, homeschooled her from age one. Despite her youth, Alisa has excelled in her studies, leaving professors and students amazed. However, her early college experience has not been without challenges, particularly in socializing with peers. Alisa expresses genuine enthusiasm for learning, viewing it as comparable to playing outside.
Alisa's father revealed that he thought if she could get into college by 10, that would be an achievement. He never imagined she would graduate at that age.
Her professor, Sandra Ruiz, emphasized that Alisa's determination and curiosity set her apart, stating, 'Her young age doesn't stop her; she was always curious to learn.'
Alisa shared her passion for learning, stating, 'It's very fun to me - almost as fun as playing outside or riding a bike or whatever; I just enjoy learning.'
Rafael Perales, her father, disclosed the breadth of their homeschooling efforts, saying, 'We were working from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon, and we did that six days a week.'
