"Singer/songwriter Nicki Sicki lived the punk life, moving the band to SF and lived with The Dicks, M.D.C. and members of the Cro-Mags. Between members leaving for the army, and Sicki doing time in the joint, Verbal Abuse went dormant."
"That is, until 1996, when Slayer covered five of their songs on the album Undisputed Attitude. This show's pace will be breakneck along with Sad Boy Sinister, N.F.G., and Humungus."
Verbal Abuse emerged as an early 1980s originator of Texas fast hardcore music and defied typical punk rock conventions. Singer/songwriter Nicki Sicki relocated the band to San Francisco and lived with members of The Dicks, M.D.C., and the Cro-Mags. Lineup departures for military service and Sicki's imprisonment caused the band to go dormant. Slayer covered five Verbal Abuse songs on the 1996 album Undisputed Attitude, renewing interest in the band. The upcoming show will feature a breakneck pace and support from Sad Boy Sinister, N.F.G., and Humungus. The performance is scheduled for Sun, Jan 11 at The Ritz, San Jose, with tickets priced $20–$25 and a 6pm start time.
