Stinkfoot Orchestra brings Frank Zappa tribute to Redwood City
Briefly

The Stinkfoot Orchestra, a Frank Zappa tribute band founded by Nick Chargin, faces logistical challenges touring outside the Bay Area, despite significant demand for performances, particularly on the East Coast. With a 14-piece lineup, it's challenging to coordinate shows, but fans have made significant efforts to see them at their Bay Area gigs. The band plans performances at Club Fox featuring Zappa's extensive catalog without repeats. Featuring Zappa alumni adds credibility, with Napoleon Murphy Brock leading the upcoming shows, highlighting the band's ties to the original Zappa repertoire.
"It's nice to know we're wanted, but it's not easy to get out there for a band this size," says Chargin, a San Jose resident who serves as Stinkfoot's keyboardist.
"We don't do this often, maybe once a year," Chargin says. "It's a lot of work to get 70 songs ready for performance."
"The fact that we get respect from people who were with Frank for so long is a big motivator for me. It gives us some street cred."
Chargin says people came from across the country last year to see Stinkfoot's shows at Club Fox in Redwood City.
