Day One of Outside Lands featured a dense but well-behaved crowd. The festival opened with Alemeda's radical hits and was followed by punk-pop from Destroy Boys. Mannequin Pussy added aggressive punk energy, emphasizing political statements from the stage. Thundercat presented a chaotic mix of acid jazz and R&B, while MARINA delivered a slick pop performance, despite technical uncertainties. Smaller acts, such as Fcukers, brought humor and bold electronic music to the festival as well.
Alemeda kicked things off with emerging hits like "1-800-FUCK-YOU," setting a tone of revolt and self-empowerment at Outside Lands.
Missy Dabice of Mannequin Pussy spoke passionately against billionaires and transphobia, declaring that politics belongs in entertainment.
