"This reimagining of Disney Animation musical numbers helps bring down barriers and allows us to connect in a special way with our audiences in the Deaf community."
Disney+ honors National Deaf History Month by launching 'Songs in Sign Language', which includes animated musical sequences from Disney films reimagined in American Sign Language. The featured songs are 'We Don't Talk About Bruno', 'Beyond', and 'The Next Right Thing'. A team of animators and Deaf West Theatre performers collaborated to create new animations that convey emotion and concepts rather than direct translations. Hyrum Osmond emphasized the beauty of sign language and the importance of connecting with the Deaf community through this project.
