Ranch seasoning sold at Walmart recalled due to salmonella risk

Blackstone Products of Providence, Utah is recalling certain lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning products because of a salmonella risk. The recall is linked to California Dairies, Inc. recalling dry milk powder that was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used in the ranch seasoning. No illnesses have been reported so far. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal illness, especially in young children, elderly people, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms in healthy people can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, salmonella can lead to severe infections such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis. The seasoning was sold exclusively at Walmart stores and through the Blackstone Products website. Lot codes are on the bottom of the package, with sell-by dates of July 2, 2027; Aug. 5, 2027; and Aug. 12, 2027. Consumers should not eat the affected product and should dispose of it promptly.
