"More severe infections can lead to strokes, seizures, kidney damage or even death, the CFIA said. Anyone who thinks they may have fallen ill from consuming a recalled product should contact their health-care provider, the agency said."
Organic broccoli, mild mix, and spring mix microgreens sold in Ontario and Quebec were recalled because of potential E. coli contamination. The recall covers 65 g packages from Farm Boy and Kyan Culture with best-before dates up to and including May 19 or May 22, depending on the product. Consumers who purchased the affected items should throw them out or return them to the place of purchase. The products should not be eaten or served. No illnesses have been reported so far. E. coli infection symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and watery or bloody diarrhea. Severe cases can cause strokes, seizures, kidney damage, or death. Anyone who may have become ill should contact a health-care provider.
