Wexford Pride gearing up for a for a day of queer joy, solidarity and protest
Pride Inside returns to Wexford Arts Centre on Saturday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free, family-friendly festival is a local LGBTQIA+ calendar cornerstone and includes a vibrant mix of live music, community connection, and collective action, followed by an 18+ party. The event is funded through Wexford County Council’s Arts Office and organised by Wexford Pride with the goal of reflecting the full spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community. Performers include multiple local and featured acts, alongside the Wexford Pride Singing Group and Haus of Goofy. A marketplace offers LGBTQIA+ and allied vendors, including baked treats, handmade art, and tattoos. A dedicated quiet space supports neuroinclusive participation throughout the day.
"Taking place on Saturday, May 30, form 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., the free, family-friendly festival has become the cornerstone of the local LGBTQIA+ calendar. This year's offering promises "a vibrant mix of live music, community connection and collective action, with an 18+ party keeping the celebration going into the night"."
"Funded through Wexford County Council's Arts Office, 'Pride Inside' is organised by Wexford Pride with the goal of "reflecting the full spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community". Among the performers on Saturday will be 12 Gauge Outrage, Blocco Garman, Ovalords, Mz Red Deer, Andrei Boyd, Lili Dobbs, Aisling De Barra, Mark & Luke, the Wexford Pride Singing Group and Haus of Goofy."
"There will also be a marketplace of LGBTQIA+ and allied vendors, offering everything from baked treats to handmade art and tattoos. The event is also neuroinclusive and a dedicated quiet space will run throughout the day at the back of the Arts Centre, so that attendees can chill out and take a sensory break, while still being part of the festivities."
""Pride here has grown because our community has grown - across identities, ages, races, abilities, and backgrounds," Wexford Pride committee member Rian Browne said. "This celebration makes space for every part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum to be seen, honoured, and connected. Whether you're on the dancefloor or taking a quiet moment in our sensory space, you belong."
