Heiting Library, Cy Twombly and Lewis Carroll Collection: March acquisitions round-up

Manfred Heiting's photobook library, once extensively damaged by California wildfires, has partially rebounded as the National Gallery of Art acquires over 4,500 items. Notably, many iconic pieces survived by being stored elsewhere. Concurrently, the Menil Collection commemorates its 30th anniversary by receiving early works of Cy Twombly, including two key paintings and numerous drawings that reflect his artistic focus on classical themes and the emotive power of line, enhancing the museum's ongoing study of drawing.
