The second East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival took place in Romford, promoting a new cinema experience through its diverse program of films and performances. Held on March 15 and 16, the festival attracted filmmakers from the US, Spain, and Denmark, featuring awards in seven categories including Best Short and Best Feature Film. Festival director Carrie Kendall emphasized the significance of creating a welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community to see representation and connect, with the event receiving strong local support and fostering future pride activities.
"It's amazing to see people from all over the world creating such bold queer art. I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to share it on the big screen in Romford."
"This space needs to exist in Havering and will continue to exist thanks to the support from Lumiere, The NO Collective, The Mercury Mall, and all of the amazing people who turn up to these events."
