Chappell Roan dedicates BRIT Award to trans artists and drag queens
Briefly

Chappell Roan, a rising LGBTQ+ music star, dedicated her BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year to trans artists, drag queens, and the late Sinéad O'Connor during a pre-recorded acceptance speech. Not present at the ceremony, Roan emphasized the importance of queer joy in her debut album, 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess', and recognized those who influenced her journey. Her music, particularly the hit 'Good Luck, Babe!', has resonated widely, solidifying her place in contemporary music and the LGBTQ+ community.
Thank you to my fans all over the world but especially my UK girlies. You have been there since day one. Chappell Roan was born through experiencing queer joy. It's so special, I had to write an entire album about it.
I dedicate this to trans artists, to drag queens, to fashion students, sex workers, and Sinéad O'Connor. Because of all of those people, they have laid the groundwork for me to be here today. I did not give up because of them, and I will continue going because of them.
