CIA Director John Ratcliffe indicated that this pause could encourage peace negotiations but offered hope for its eventual lift. This withholding of support comes amid tensions between US President and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. While some reports suggest the restriction, an unnamed Ukrainian source claims intelligence support continues, sparking uncertainty regarding the actual status of US-Ukraine intelligence cooperation.
"On the military front and the intelligence front, the pause that allowed that to happen, I think will go away," Ratcliffe added, implying that a temporary restriction was a way to push 'peace negotiations to move forward.'
Reports circulated on Wednesday that Washington had cut off intelligence sharing with the war-torn country. However, Ukrainian national broadcaster Suspilne cited a source saying it continued.
