Ukraine's Zelenskyy slams US reaction to Russian strike DW 04/05/2025
Briefly

A ballistic missile strike in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, killed 18 individuals, nine of whom were children. Local officials have condemned the attack, labeling it as an act of terrorism. The regional governor described the incident as an unimaginable pain and stated that days of mourning would be observed in the community. The Russian defense ministry claimed that their target was a restaurant hosting military commanders and instructors, but the devastation of civilian life from the attack raised significant concerns over mass casualty incidents in residential areas.
This is the kind of pain you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy," Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Sergiy Lysak said on Telegram.
On 7, 8 and 9 April, days of mourning will be declared in Kryvyi Rih for those killed as a result of yesterday's terrorist attacks on our city by the killer country," he said.
Ballistic missile and shakedown attacks on residential areas and playgrounds... This is nothing less than a mass murder of civilians," he added.
Russia's defense ministry said it had struck a restaurant "where commanders of formations and Western instructors were meeting."
