Senior officials from Ukraine met in Paris with delegations from the United States and Europe to discuss a possible ceasefire in the ongoing war following recent Russian airstrikes that resulted in six deaths. The discussions come as fears grow among Ukraine's allies regarding the Trump administration's shifting stance towards Moscow, which threatens support for Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov accused European leaders of wanting to extend the conflict, while US envoy Steve Witkoff aimed to bring updates on peace talks after meeting with Russian President Putin.
The United States is continuing to work in this direction with the Europeans and with the Ukrainians," Peskov said. "Unfortunately, from the Europeans we see a focus on continuing the war."
