On August 24, 2024, soldiers of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine successfully struck a field ammunition depot located near the settlement of Ostrogozhsk in the Voronezh region of Russia. The ammunition depot belonged to the Zapad group of troops of the Russian Armed Forces. This significant operation showcases Ukraine's capability to engage targets deep within enemy territory, thus altering the strategic calculus in the ongoing conflict.
