The White House national security advisor Mike Waltz mentioned that U.S. aid to Ukraine may be resumed if peace talks can be established. Ukrainian President Zelensky showed readiness to collaborate with the U.S. for long-lasting peace, encouraging a truce to protect Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Waltz characterized Zelensky's willingness as a positive step and suggested that confidence-building measures could lead to shifts in U.S. policy. Meanwhile, CIA Director Ratcliffe confirmed that intelligence sharing with Ukraine has paused, reflecting the cautious approach of the Trump administration regarding Ukraine's commitment towards peace negotiations.
I think if we can nail down these negotiations and move towards these negotiations, and in fact, put some confidence-building measures on the table, then the president will take a hard look at lifting this pause.
Zelensky has called for a truce in the sky and for a ban on missiles bombing Ukrainian energy and infrastructure. He said that it is time to make things right.
Trump had a real question about whether President (Volodymyr) Zelensky was committed to the peace process, and he said let's pause.
On the military front and the intelligence front, the pause that allowed that to happen, I think will go away.
