Vyacheslav Gladkov stated, 'Therefore, we are making a decision, starting today, to declare a regional emergency situation throughout the Belgorod region with a subsequent appeal to the government to declare a federal emergency situation.'
Despite reports of heavy Ukrainian assaults in Kursk, Gladkov mentioned that attacks had been repelled, stating there was an evacuation of over 100,000 residents due to the threat.
President Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainian offensive wasn't about taking Russian land but aimed at pressuring Russia into negotiations, reflecting a significant shift in the conflict dynamics.
