Global Rights Compliance accused the IOC of negligence for allowing athletes who supported the war in Ukraine to compete, despite rules banning such expressions. Russia and Belarus were banned from official teams due to the invasion, except for some individual competitors under special conditions.
Evidence showed 17 out of 32 athletes accepted by the IOC for Paris had breached rules, including a cyclist liking pro-USSR and pro-Putin posts on social media after the invasion in 2022.
