According to South Korea's National Intelligence Service, North Korean troops have returned to the frontline in Kursk, Russia, following a month-long hiatus and hefty casualties in the ongoing war. Reports suggest that 1,000 to 3,000 additional troops were deployed recently. Ukrainian officials estimate that at least 3,800 North Koreans have been either killed or wounded since their involvement, with forecasts indicating that North Korea could rotate up to 100,000 troops within a year to sustain their presence amidst ongoing conflict.
Following about a monthlong lull, North Korean troops were placed back in the frontline region of Kursk starting in the first week of February, South Korea's National Intelligence Service said.
Pyongyang would likely maintain a presence of up to 15,000 troops in the war, rotating soldiers every two to three months.
