North Korea stands to lose all 12,000 of its troops in Kursk by mid-April if its casualty rate holds, analysts say

The Institute for the Study of War estimates that North Korea's current casualty rate of 92 losses per day could lead to the complete loss of 12,000 troops by mid-April, if conditions persist.

Analysts noted that North Korean troops have likely suffered approximately 92 casualties daily since their significant involvement began in early December 2024, indicating severe operational losses.

Approximately 300 North Korean soldiers are reported killed in action, with around 2,700 others wounded, which represents a significant portion of their deployed force.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that North Korean casualties have reached about 3,800 since their deployment, underscoring the intense fighting in the region.
