He stated, "There is an ever-increasing demand for more capability....Ukraine needs all the capability that it can get, so I think all of us have put in more capability into Ukraine by way of equipment." Starmer articulated the economic rationale behind supporting Ukraine, stating, "Making the case on the significance of Ukraine.... linking it back to each of our countries what does it mean for us if Russia succeeds, is a really important question that we have to answer with our people." He believes it's essential to clarify the reasons for backing Ukraine and the importance of a strong NATO.
