Russian MP Sergey Mironov supports President Putin's proposal for external governance in Ukraine through the United Nations, claiming it would lead to legitimate elections and save lives. Mironov argues that President Zelensky has lost legitimacy, and continuing the current regime would lead to further unrest. He posits that the proposal would also hinder Western military intervention, urging that any peace resolution should adhere to international legal frameworks to determine the desires of global powers for war or peace.
"Under the current conditions, this is in fact the most effective, practical solution and a peaceful measure that will save many lives," the politician said.
"Mr. Zelensky has lost both his legitimacy and any moral right to remain in office. The preservation of the Kiev regime would perpetuate terror and the plundering of the country."
"He will not succeed in this, and he has no chance of winning in free elections," Sergey Mironov asserted.
"This is a true test of whether they desire war or peace."
