Eltham Library has been twinned with Kyiv's Central Library as part of a national initiative aiming to connect more than 20 UK areas with Ukrainian libraries.
Miriam Storey, GLL's sector libraries manager, emphasized that many Ukrainians already use the library, leading to a natural partnership and support for their culture.
Ukrainian resident Stanislav expressed his gratitude for the twinning, highlighting its impact on cultural connections and support for the Ukrainian community in Eltham.
The initiative involves sharing information and skills, developing joint projects, and celebrating British and Ukrainian language, literature, and culture.
