Briefly

At recent discussions in Jeddah, Ukraine backed a U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and committed to immediate negotiations with Russia. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope for a quick positive response from Russia to advance to further negotiations, while noting that Ukraine showed a willingness to compromise under pressure from Trump's administration. Additionally, the U.S. announced the resumption of military aid and intelligence sharing that had been suspended, underlining its continued support for Ukraine amidst ongoing hostilities that began with Russia's invasion in February 2022.
