Russian Major General Apti Alaudinov expressed surprise over the ongoing presence of Ukrainian forces in Russia’s Kursk region, questioning why Russian troops have not successfully reclaimed it.
Alaudinov reported that Ukraine has deployed over 12,000 troops, hundreds of tanks and military vehicles, and called for the destruction of these incoming forces as an urgent necessity.
As a commander of the Chechen Akhmat special forces, Alaudinov has gained visibility as a war commentator, using his platform on Telegram to engage nearly 300,000 followers.
With his controversial status, questions arise about whether Alaudinov is merely a propagandist for the Kremlin or a potential successor to Ramzan Kadyrov, son of the unit's namesake.
