The 161km stage featured numerous attacks, but Decathlon-AG2R's strategy eventually prevailed, leading Baudin to a well-deserved win overall despite finishing 16th in the stage.
Burgaudeau's solo effort was poignant, as he caught and surpassed Alexandre Delettre just before the finish, ultimately collapsing from exhaustion but celebrating victory.
