In the final stage of the Renewi Tour, Tim Wellens secured his fourth overall victory while Arnaud De Lie claimed the stage win on Muur van Geraardsbergen.
Wellens had to make up 16 seconds on race leader Alec Segaert, and demonstrated his experience and racing acumen by launching a successful assault late in the stage.
The decisive 203km route included daunting climbs, which ultimately determined the outcome as the early break dissipated and left Wellens and De Lie battling for the win.
Wellens' triumph adds to his accolades, further solidifying his status in the cycling community, while De Lie's win highlighted his promising season.
