Nick Fowler set a new record for the fastest known time on the Arizona Trail, completing it in 12 days, 17 hours, and 33 minutes without external support.
The previous records were held by Joe "Stringbean" McConaughy and Josh Perry, highlighting Fowler’s significant achievement of being 10 hours faster than the previous supported effort.
Completing the trail self-supported meant Fowler had to carry all his supplies daily, though he had pre-arranged food caches—showcasing his incredible planning and endurance.
The Arizona Trail is known for its eco-diversity, crossing various landscapes including the Grand Canyon, major mountain ranges, and the Sonoran Desert, making it a significant challenge.
