Man runs candlelit Arctic half marathon in memory of mother
Briefly

Jesse Walklin completed the PolarNight Half Marathon in Troms, Norway, in memory of his mother who passed away from a brain tumour five months prior.
Walking in pitch black with candles lighting the path created a unique experience. Despite the challenges of the -8 temperatures, we all ran together.
The snow created a low-impact running surface. I raised £25,000 for Brain Tumour Research, which feels significant after losing my mum.
Training for this Arctic run was unlike anything I've done before, focusing on adapting to the cold rather than traditional distance training.
