Around that time, she met Boston Marathon Race Director David McGillivray. They married in the late 1980s and had two sons, Ryan and Max. She spoiled her boys with endless love and support - cheering them on at every game and performance. "Mulch" and "Peanuts" were her pride and joy."
Susan Ann Hurley was born April 8, 1963 in North Reading, Massachusetts, and embraced New England life. A childhood incident sparked a passion for running alongside a love of cheerleading. She became a Patriots cheerleader, married Boston Marathon Race Director David McGillivray, and had two sons, Ryan and Max. After their 1996 divorce, they remained close friends and colleagues. Susan lived in North Andover for over 30 years and enjoyed walking the common. In 2008 she founded CharityTeams to help nonprofits fundraise through races, ultimately raising $42 million. She trained Boston Marathon charity runners for 18 seasons, leading long training runs.
