Starting on January 16, he surpassed the previous record of 49 days by George Henderson by more than 17.5 days, averaging 59.6 miles per day. The Te Araroa is New Zealand's premier long-distance trail, featuring a diverse range of challenging terrains. With a total elevation gain of nearly 142,000 feet, it has become increasingly popular, with approximately 2,000 hikers annually attempting to complete its rugged journey.
