The Get Better Running Club began in January under coach Chris Connolly. Many women started unable to complete a 5K and gradually increased distances with regular group training. Members formed strong friendships and mutual encouragement while progressing through 10K, 15K and half marathon distances. Each runner is preparing for a first marathon and is fundraising for a charity meaningful to her, including Focus Ireland, the Children's Health Foundation, St Michael's House, Women's Aid, Alzheimer's Ireland and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. Group support allowed members to overcome fears, build endurance, and celebrate achievements together.
