A step ladder across a waterfall made this Bay Area hike 'iconic'
Briefly

"It's mysterious and magical," said Hillary Colyer, interpreter at Mount Tamalpais State Park. "In the wintertime with the rains, [the hike] can be more treacherous because it gets slippery, but everything comes to life there. All that moss, when it gets wet with that moisture, it's more vivid ... adding a multi-sensory experience to the trail."
The Dipsea and Steep Ravine trails are also the course for several trail runs throughout the year, including the legendary (and thigh-busting) Dipsea Race.
