Daniels said it was sad Platner was being considered for a Senate seat and cited support from Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. Daniels referenced resurfaced Reddit posts where Platner mocked Daniels after a 2012 firefight with the Taliban. Daniels also said Platner’s past comments implied veteran Chris Kyle inflated his combat kill record by targeting civilians. Daniels emphasized the impact on Kyle’s and his own children, arguing that Warren and Sanders backing Platner forces his family to hear that support. Platner did not apologize after being confronted about the posts.
