"I want to make Texas the WORST place for terrorist muslims, groomers, PDFs [pedophiles], & corrupt politicians to live in so help me God. Let's keep Texas Christian. The state is 67% Christian, 2% Muslim, and 26% religiously unaffiliated, according to the Pew Research Center."
"While Gomez got 2,455 votes, coming in second place with 5.6% of the electorate, Carter got 25,397 votes, coming in first with 57.97%. Gomez's campaign focused on her unproven claim that Carter had an unspecified 'horrible health condition' and holding him personally responsible for allegedly allowing Muslim Texans to build 200 mosques during his 22 years in Congress."
"During Election Day, she also released a video claiming that the Republican Party was 'stealing' her election by not printing her name on ballots. 'That's the only way they can win: by cheating,' she said in the video, 'because nobody in good conscience wants' her opponent to win."
Valentina Gomez, an anti-LGBTQ+ and Islamophobic candidate, lost her congressional race in Texas to 84-year-old incumbent Rep. John Carter, receiving 2,455 votes (5.6%) compared to Carter's 25,397 votes (57.97%). Gomez's campaign centered on unsubstantiated claims about Carter's health and accusations that he allowed Muslim Texans to build 200 mosques during his 22 years in Congress. After harassing Carter at a state GOP gala, she was banned from Republican Party events. On Election Day, Gomez falsely claimed the election was stolen, alleging her name was intentionally omitted from ballots and that the Republican Party cheated to prevent her victory.
