Deloitte and Zoom cut parental leave and other benefits
""It legitimizes that action for everybody else," former Google head of human resources Laszlo Bock stated regarding the cuts by Deloitte and Zoom."
""If they feel that they can improve the profitability of the firm by getting rid of some of these benefits, they will," said HR analyst Josh Bersin."
Deloitte and Zoom are cutting employee benefits, with Zoom reducing parental leave from 22-24 weeks to 18 weeks and non-birthing parents' leave from 16 to 10 weeks. Deloitte is also cutting PTO, pension plans, and IVF funding for support roles. Experts warn these cuts may set a precedent for other companies. Many employees express dissatisfaction, with some considering boycotts. Despite grievances, employees may feel compelled to stay due to a risky job market. Long-term, these reductions could decrease productivity, but some view them as necessary for avoiding layoffs.
