What Careers Are Most Attractive in Dating
"A survey recently conducted by the dating app The League asked its members what industries they would consider to be the most attractive for potential partners. Among female respondents, finance/business earned the most interest, and among male respondents, medicine/mental health seems to have gotten their hearts racing the most. That doesn't necessarily mean, though, that you have your work cut out for you, so to speak, if your career doesn't fall into one of the more favored industries."
"Of the respondents, 62 percent were female and 38 percent were male. The vast majority of the respondents were Millennials (85 percent) with some Gen Zers (14 percent) and a smattering of Gen Xers (1 percent). As alluded to earlier, for the most attractive industry question, there were sex differences between what people found sexy. Among women, 78 percent listed finance/business. Second-place was a tie between medical/mental health and tech/engineering, with each being listed by 73 percent of female respondents."
A dating-app poll of more than 600 members (62% female, 38% male) revealed gendered preferences for partner industries. Women most often selected finance/business (78%), with medical/mental health and tech/engineering tied at 73%, followed by law/government (61%) and entrepreneur/founder (53%). Men most often favored medicine/mental health. Respondent industry, role, and level of experience influenced which industries were considered attractive. Personal perception of one’s own industry and career proved especially important for perceived dating appeal. Age demographics skewed heavily to Millennials (85%), with smaller shares of Gen Z (14%) and Gen X (1%).
