Hunter, 36, describes a lifelong ass-worship fetish that began in adolescent AOL chats. Early online sexting produced intense arousal through detailed description and reciprocal praise. The pattern of verbal praise and arousal persisted into adulthood. Online contexts felt safer and more predictable, while in-person sexual encounters triggered panic, loss of erections, and retreat. Sexting and pornography became primary outlets. By his late twenties he had largely stopped trying to have sex and had not really had sex; a messy college-party night produced only the illusion of sexual experience. The fetish acted as refuge from shame and a substitute for intimacy.
