HUD secretary nominee Scott Turner to have Senate confirmation hearing next week

Scott Turner has been nominated to lead the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, with a Senate confirmation hearing set for January 16.

Turner previously directed the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, where he advanced over 200 policies aimed at economic development in distressed communities.

While receiving backing from former HUD Secretary Ben Carson and Senator Tim Scott, Turner will face scrutiny from Senators including Elizabeth Warren during his confirmation process.

Elizabeth Warren stated she looks forward to learning about Turner's stance on the housing crisis and will review his past record objectively before the hearing.
