"I have a problem, and I need your help," Allen wrote. "My problem is that as not too many people where to find Hiway 88 ... I don't have long crowded lift lines."
"Last year the management of the restaurant was a great a disappointment," Allen wrote."

The Iron Mountain ski resort, about 20 miles south of Lake Tahoe in El Dorado County, is for sale for $5.8 million. The roughly 65-acre property includes broken ski lifts, burn scars from the Caldor Fire, preapproved permits to build condos, and zoning that allows a new ski resort and camping. The listing envisions a small, family-run ski operation with surrounding condominiums. The site first opened as Silver Basin in 1971 under John Allen, featured an "upside down" slope design, struggled to attract visitors, and closed by 1974 amid accusations and legal action.
