Real Madrid have been impressed by Couto and now feel he could be a good option to sign as someone to compete with Dani Carvajal for a place at right-back.
Of course, there's plenty of competition for places at the Etihad Stadium, but if a club like Real Madrid are showing an interest, it surely gives Pep Guardiola something to think about.
