Thibaut Courtois is set to return for Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal, according to coach Carlo Ancelotti. Although Courtois has faced injury issues this season and will miss the LaLiga match against Valencia, Ancelotti expresses confidence in his recovery. Meanwhile, two players, Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger, will also be available after a brief suspension. With Andriy Lunin potentially sidelined due to injury, 19-year-old Fran Gonzalez is likely to fill in as the goalkeeper against Valencia.
‘There's no concern. Courtois is much better, we believe he can make it to Tuesday,’ Ancelotti told reporters on Friday.
‘We have a doubt about Lunin, who will be tested today. He (Gonzalez) is a great goalkeeper;’ Ancelotti added.
Courtois has battled several injuries throughout the campaign, but has missed the last two matches for Los Blancos, with Andriy Lunin deputising in between the sticks.
The pair were handed one-match bans, suspended for a year, and fined following their celebrations after knocking Atletico out of the Champions League on penalties.
