reader 3.22 released - new web app
"The new web application is done! Features include: add / list / filter / delete feeds, list / filter articles, mark articles as read / (un)important, article view, custom feed titles, dark mode."
"I’ve unified how configuration and plugins are loaded across make_reader(), the command-line interface, and the web app, by using Click to parse and validate configuration."
"Reader now honors the Cache-Control max-age and Expires HTTP headers when updating feeds, in addition to Retry-After."
"Reader now has an AI contributions policy; tl;dr: they are banned, for now. The reasoning is two-fold: I don’t have time for this and there are various issues surrounding LLMs."
Reader 3.22 features a new web application that allows users to manage feeds and articles effectively. Key functionalities include adding, listing, filtering, and deleting feeds, as well as marking articles as read or important. The configuration and plugin loading have been unified, changing the config file format from YAML to TOML. The update frequency for feeds is now limited by default, and the application respects HTTP headers for feed updates. An AI contributions policy has been established, banning low-effort contributions for now.
