"Valley Water is accepting applications for its Water 101 Academy until 5 p.m. on Jan. 9. Water 101 Academy is a free program for adults in Santa Clara County to promote water awareness, address misinformation and support community initiatives like creek cleanups and flood preparedness outreach. Directors chooses three candidates from their district to create the 21-member cohort, who will learn about the local water system and the agency's projects through webinars and tours of water infrastructure."

Appointments can be made online, by phone, or via text, and walk-ins are welcome. Donors must be healthy and at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent).
