'Urgent safety alert' for over 100,000 heating system pumps due to electrocution risk
"This is one of the largest product safety alerts ever issued by the CCPC, and one of the most serious. There are about 114,000 of these pumps in Irish homes. If you've had work done on your heating system in the last eight years, you need to check if you have one of these pumps. Check your heating system very carefully - do not touch the pump, just look for the Tucson brand, find the serial number and check it against the list on CCPC.ie. The affected pump can then be replaced for free by an approved Tucson technician or service agent."

"there is a serious risk of electrocution"
About 114,000 Tucson 5m, 6m and 8m circulating pumps manufactured between 2017 and 2024 are installed in Irish heating systems. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the Health and Safety Authority identified a serious electrocution risk if affected pumps are handled, disconnected, adjusted or maintained. Consumers can continue to use heating systems but must not touch or handle the pump. Householders should visually check for the Tucson brand, locate the serial number and compare it against the list on CCPC.ie. Tucson Pumps is running a major replacement programme with free replacements by approved qualified technicians or service agents. Tradespeople are urged to exercise particular caution when servicing or upgrading systems.
