Mpox transmission in New York City remains elevated, with 63 cases in October surpassing September and weekly peaks of 19 cases. Case counts were low early in the year before rising through spring, summer, and fall, following a similar trajectory to last year. From Jan. 1, 2024, to Jan. 9 this year, 420 people tested positive, and through the first week of November 2025 the city recorded 348 cases. Manhattan accounted for 44% of October cases, with most recent infections occurring among unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals, and many infected persons reported multiple sexual partners.
