Man posing as hospital worker swipes skin grafts, valuable medical equipment, officials say

Jason Brauner, a 47-year-old man from San Jacinto, was arrested for impersonating a hospital worker and stealing over $100,000 worth of medical equipment in June and July. He wore blue scrubs and a surgical mask to carry out the thefts during three incidents at a hospital on Bob Hope Drive. After being stopped by deputies, stolen medical equipment was found in his vehicle, and a subsequent search of his home revealed additional stolen supplies valued at between $10,000 and $25,000. Authorities are investigating related thefts at other hospitals.
