An inquest revealed that the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust did not recognize or manage complications during a high-risk home delivery. Poppy Hope Lomas died a week after her birth at home in Enfield. Her mother, Gemma Lomas, expressed that the home birth team did not respond adequately to warning signs. She experienced scar pain and prolonged pushing, and Poppy showed heart-rate decelerations, which should have triggered an emergency response. Lomas felt misled about the risks associated with her pregnancy and delivery.
