'Hardworking' dad is latest in same family killed by asbestos exposure
Briefly

John Nutt began working at the Royal Albert Dock in Newham in the late 1950s, transporting hessian sacks of powdered asbestos without safety equipment. The dangers of asbestos were not understood at the time. He passed away from scarring of the lungs due to asbestos exposure, known as asbestosis. Nutt experienced severe breathing difficulties and significant weight loss in his final years. His family expressed concerns about whether his condition could have been detected or treated earlier.

Mr Nutt suffered in his final years with breathing difficulties and weight loss, which doctors suspected were asbestos-related.
By the time he died at an address in Edward Road, Chadwell Heath, he had shrunk to just 37 kilogrammes less than six stone.
